We love helping our customers have a beautiful garden and a positive gardening experience. We are pleased to offer garden consulting at your home! Tobey Nelson is our lead garden consultant. She holds a B.S. in Landscape Horticulture, is a Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH), and offers a lifetime of experience with garden maintenance and design. A garden consulting session can include any of the following:
- Plant identification & troubleshooting
- Pruning advice/lesson & specific maintenance training
- Onsite planting recommendations
- Casual plant list and/or sketch**
The rate for this service is $115 per hour. The minimum charge is one hour. Time is calculated from nursery and back – so customer pays travel time. Payment is requested at the time of service by check made payable to Venture Out. You may also pay by credit card; we will call for the card number upon returning to the nursery. Be prepared:
- Have a clear goal in mind. Be ready to take notes and/or make sketches.
- If you have a pet, please poop-scoop your yard.
- For those with septic systems, it is very important to know the location of your tanks, drain field, reserve and all pipelines.
If you would like to schedule a session, please download our Garden Consultation Intake Form and then email your completed form to tobey@ventureoutnursery.com or bring your completed form to the nursery. Or you can stop in to fill out the form. Tobey will then call you to schedule the visit. **This service offers a casual sketch made during the visit; we do not go back to the nursery to draw detailed/scaled plans of developed ideas.
We are happy to offer delivery of any plants, soils or other goods purchased here at Venture Out. Please speak with our customer service associate as you are checking out and we will have you fill out a form at that time. Cost will depend on location for delivery as well as how many people are needed to move it, or if machinery is required.
Our professional planting crew is available year-round to help you safely and properly plant anything you have purchased here at Venture Out Nursery! We will bring the plants to you, along with any necessary soil amendments and stakes if needed, and plant them where you want them. We do ask that you call 811 at least 3 business days prior to our install date so that any wires or pipes will be marked before we dig. The space should be ready for us to dig and plant. This service does not include the following: Ground leveling, earth moving, transplant or removal of existing plants or other landscaping services. The rate for this service is $75 per labor hour. The fee includes delivery, so we start the clock when the driver leaves the nursery and stop when they arrive back. We can estimate the approximate time required when you sign up for the service, but the final time may differ.
